Values Questionnaire
This questionnaire was developed by the University of Minnesota's Morris Career Center and gives an easy essay-format way of looking at what is most valuable to the test taker and helps to provoke ideas on how to change what one doesn't like in their life.

After taking this test, I have come to the conclusion that I am on the right path by pursuing a management based job or position. My top priorities are independence, money and security, as asked by the quiz. The difference between my jobs and these values are pretty simple. I do not make a lot of money in either of my jobs, either right above minimum wage or slightly above. I have minimal independence due to the streamlining of the process at both jobs. However, my front desk job is slightly more independent because I have varied ways of helping guests and a small amount of independence in deciding how to solve issues. Job security is fairly low in both jobs because they are both entry level positions and can be filled easily by other individuals if I do not perform well or have one really bad mistake. The solution to changing my situation is very obvious. I need to move up to a higher level management position in one or both jobs to increase my independence, wages and security. Managers have the greatest amount of independence because they effectively control the business and make the decisions. They also earn far more than other positions because with a high degree of responsibility that managers bear, they are thus paid more for their more difficult work load. They also have far greater job security because it is not easy to find capable individuals that can hold the title of manager well and it is expensive to train someone of a lower level to be brought up to the managerial level.
