According to the Myers-Briggs Type Q test, my personality type is ENTJ. The report states that, ENTJ's are described by the following characteristics:
- ENTJ's enjoy executive action and long range planning
- They are logical, analytical, impersonal, objectively critical, and not convinced by anything but reasoning mainly
- ENTJ's are extraverted, focusing on the outer world and try to control as much of the world as they possibly can
- They prefer to organize goals and information far in advance, and try very hard to meet deadlines on schedule.
- Can be tough when the situation calls for it.
- ENTJ's live their lives according to logic and a basic logical formula. Any major change in their lifestyle requires an effort on their part to change this overarching formula
- They focus on the future with their intuition and have a craving for challenge within reason as a result
- ENTJ's tend to be "big picture" thinkers and like to solve problems and make executive decisions; as a result, they need people with sensing tendencies to bring up small or overlooked details to balance each other out
- Can sometimes judge too hastily, without looking at facts or thinking about how people feel
- ENTJ's lack a large degree of the thinking aspect in themselves and need to learn to incorporate it into their processes to balance themselves
Popular occupations for ENTJ's include:
- Any management position in general
- Personal financial planner
- Credit Investigator
- Stockbroker
- Consulting/training positions in general
- Attorney
- Judge
- Psychologist
Characteristics frequently associated with the ENTJ type:
- "Hearty, frank, decisive, leaders in activities. Usually good at anything that requires reasoning and intelligent talk, such as public speaking. Are usually well informed and enjoy adding to their fund of knowledge. May sometimes appear more positive and confident than their experience in an area warrants."

As far as ENTJ's are concerned, I have a fairly rosy view of the personality type. Ignoring personal bias, I think they are one of the better personality types to be. They excel at being managers in general. They are extremely adept at managing not only materials and products, but time, people and ideas as well. There is a downfall of being an ENTJ however, and that is the fact that they are not the most sensitive types. I can think of a couple times where I said or did something without thinking and made someone angry or hurt someone's feelings. As long as ENTJ's (and myself) can either learn to be more sensitive or have a Feeling type around to help balance us out, ENTJ's will continue to succeed for a very long time.
